"It depends" is a true answer and a useless one. Here is what it actually depends on, and where the money goes.
What moves the price
- Unique page templates. Ten pages that share three layouts cost far less than ten bespoke ones.
- Custom design vs. adapting a system. A full design language is a different job from styling a proven structure.
- Integrations. Payments, CRM, maps, WhatsApp and inventory each add scope and testing.
- Content management. "The team edits everything" costs more than "we launch it and it rarely changes".
- Performance and SEO. Hitting a Core Web Vitals budget is engineering time, not a checkbox.
Rough ranges
A focused business site usually lands in a predictable band. An ecommerce build or a portal with a dashboard is a wider range. A web app or product is always scoped per project after discovery.
Whatever the number, you should get a fixed proposal with scope and milestones before anyone writes code.
